The European languages got the name of our favourite bevarge in about 16th century from Arabic guahwah and Turkish kahveh. In the beginning it was the name for bevarge only, not plant. Most scientist agree that coffee was first cultivated in Abisynia, then it spread throughout the tropics. Some researches belive that coffee was first cultivated in Yemen in about 575 A.D.
