Researchers from Cancer Research Center in Seattle checked if caffeine may protect human skin cells from UV radiation. They placed group of cultured skin cells in caffeine bath and then exposed them to UV radiation. It occured that cells damaged by UV were destroyed by caffeine. The protective effect of caffeine is that if cells wouldn’t have been destroyed they could mutated to cancer cells.
